NamaYasa / WarmNamaYasa
This is a Vinyasa style yoga class. Vinyasa yoga, often described as a moving meditation, is a dynamic breath-focused practice that utilizes sun salutations to link intelligently sequenced poses into a continuously flowing organic whole. The Vinyasa experience sustains clarity of focus and builds inner heat as it develops strength and flexibility in equal proportion. The result is improved balance, resilience and endurance.
If you join a “Warm” NamaYasa class, the room will be heated between 85/90 degrees. - bring a towel, water and dry clothing to change in to after class.
(Some yoga experience preferred)
NamaHot (Hot 26)
This class is a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, performed in precise order in a room heated to 105 degrees with 40% humidity. Incorporating strength, balance, and flexibility. This detoxifying practice will leave you exhilarated while toning every part of your body.
(All Levels - MUST BE PREPARED FOR A HEATED SETTING, bring water, a towel and dry clothes to change in to after class)
This class teaches precision and alignment of yoga postures. Develop strength and flexibility through longer holds of common and some not so common poses – expect a challenge as we give postures the time to imprint. There is greater detail of instruction and the opportunity adjustments and refinements. The perfect class to refine the relationship to your body and awaken new habits.
This is a gentle style yoga class.
A restful, calming class including breathing, gentle flowing movements, passive and supported poses. This is a perfect beginning yoga class that is also appropriate for those working with injury, limited mobility, or who prefer a softer, gentler approach to yoga.
Yin Yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Yin is yoga at its coolest, deepest, quietest, stillest moments. This class will have you on the floor most of the time, using as many props needed to create little physical effort while holding poses. Poses are held for 2-5 minutes allowing joints and fascia to release. This class will complement your Vinyasa and Hot practice and will open and release areas in need of more stretching.
This is a Restorative style yoga class. Our bodies have an innate ability to relax given the right circumstances. Restorative yoga uses a series of supported poses held for a long time under the right conditions (including the use of many props) to tip the balance from “fight or flight” mode into maximum relaxation. Yogis developed these poses over many years, but science tells us that, under the conditions set in restorative yoga, immediate effects on heart rate, blood pressure and brain activity are possible. Emphasis on complete muscular relaxation and comfort are emphasized to achieve a quiet state of mind and body. Some of her classes may also incorporate a short meditation.
